What we do

The service offers a swift, targeted, personalised, directive and structured approach to dealing with events that might lead people to experience:

  • Stress and worry
  • Fears and phobias
  • Difficulties preparing for or adjusting to upcoming stressful procedures (e.g exams, surgery)
  • Difficulties adjusting to life events like chronic illness or chronic pain
  • Signs associated with Anxiety or Depression
  • Weight, appearance or body image problems
  • Self-esteem issues, feelings of incompetence

The Mind Umbrella offers one-to-one talking sessions. Each session is 70 minutes long. With the exception of the first session where most of it is likely to be spent face to face, subsequent sessions are 60 minutes face to face +  up to 10 minutes spent in between session support – over the phone, text or Skype. Research has shown that when people are supported in tackling a problem or making a life change, in between- sessions’ support can make all the difference between succeeding with a change and failing.

Sessions are built round you and can take place wherever you are likely to feel comfortable. You can choose to ‘fend off the rain’:

  • At a quiet place at your home or place of work (within 5 miles of West Malling or Angel tube station in London- postcodes further away may be occasionally considered).
  • At Mind Umbrella’s consultation room in Churchill Square, Kings Hill or at our consultation room in Islington, North London.

Evening and weekend appointments are sometimes available.
